In Nampa alone, city crews removed hundreds of thousands of gallons of water from flooded streets.</p><p>The National Weather Service said the storms produced wind gusts exceeding&nbsp;<strong>50 mph (80 km/h)</strong>, frequent lightning and more than an inch of rainfall in some communities. Meteorologists explained that the rapid melting of accumulated hail, combined with heavy rain, overwhelmed storm drains and significantly worsened flooding.</p><p>The severe weather also prompted disaster emergency declarations in Canyon County and the city of Caldwell as officials responded to widespread flooding, damaged infrastructure and hazardous road conditions.</p><p>Residents shared dramatic videos on social media showing roads blanketed with hail that resembled snow, while others were seen kayaking through flooded neighbourhoods.
