Every Voice. Every Story. Every Form.

Keryx is a community publishing platform built on a single, stubborn conviction: that every person has something worth sharing: and the tools to carry that voice to the world should belong to everyone.

To every curious mind, every witness, every dreamer, every storyteller: welcome to Keryx.

We live in an age of information overload and, paradoxically, of creative silence. Platforms tell us what is trending, what is safe, what is monetisable. They reward the loud over the thoughtful, the viral over the valuable. The result is a publishing world where a brilliant poem, a sharp satirical column, a heartfelt personal article, or a local community news story all struggle equally to find the audience they deserve.

Keryx was born from a single, stubborn conviction: that every person has something worth sharing: and that the tools to carry that voice to the world should belong to everyone, not just media companies, influencers, or algorithmic gatekeepers.

The name Keryx is Greek for "herald": the trusted messenger who carried words of significance from one person to the next, from one world to another. That is exactly what this platform aspires to be: not an authority that decides what is worth reading, but a trusted courier for every form of human expression. News. Opinions. Poetry. Humour. Short stories. Essays. Satire. Reflections. Anything readable and worth sharing.

We built Keryx so that a student activist in Accra, a comic writer in Lagos, a poet in Nairobi, a policy analyst in London, and a storyteller anywhere in the world could all publish on equal footing: each contributing their own thread to the rich, messy, wonderful fabric of human discourse.

Mission

To build the most open and trusted community publishing platform in Africa and beyond: where every voice is a viable publishing home.

  • Access: Removing barriers to publishing for everyone, regardless of formal training or institutional affiliation.
  • Accountability: Providing tools that allow communities to interrogate, challenge, and contextualise what they read.
  • Amplification: Ensuring every piece of writing with genuine value finds the audience it deserves.

Vision

A world where expression flows freely in every form: news, opinion, poetry, satire, humour, fiction, and everything in between: and where every community has the tools to document its own story.

What we stand for

Eight values that guide every product decision, every community rule, and every team hire.

01

Expression Without Hierarchy

No content format is superior to another. A poem is not lesser than a news article. A joke is not less worthy than an op-ed.

02

Truth First

Where content presents itself as fact, we hold it to rigorous standards through credibility tools, voting, and editorial review.

03

Community Ownership

The platform belongs to its users. Our readers and writers are not an audience to be monetised: they are co-creators of Keryx.

04

Radical Accessibility

Great writing should be available to and producible by everyone. We design for low-bandwidth environments and first-time publishers.

05

Accountability at Scale

Every actor on the platform: contributor, admin, even the platform itself: is accountable. Our systems are transparent by design.

06

Earned Trust

Trust is built incrementally through credibility scores, reading streaks, badges, and consistent contribution: never assumed.

07

Civic & Cultural Purpose

We measure success not only in users and revenue, but in the tangible impact of what is published: policies changed, voices heard.

08

Continuous Curiosity

We are a technology company that serves human expression, and we take both seriously. We stay curious, humble, and always improving.

Ethical media, by design

Keryx is built in an era of deep mistrust in media and deep frustration with platforms that commodify creativity. We do not intend to be either.

We will never sell user data to advertisers or third parties.

We will never algorithmically amplify content for engagement without regard to its accuracy or impact.

We will always clearly label AI-generated or AI-assisted content.

We will always publish our moderation policies publicly and maintain an appeals process.

We will always protect the identity of eyewitnesses and anonymous contributors who face risk.

We will always be transparent about our ownership, funding, and any conflicts of interest.

We will never restrict content by genre, style, or unconventionality: only by harm.

We will never allow the pressure to grow fast to override the responsibility to create a platform that writers and readers can trust.
