'Our goal was to frustrate England and we succeeded' — Carlos Queiroz hails Black Stars' tactical masterclass
FOXBOROUGH, MASSACHUSETTS, USA — Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz has praised the Black Stars for perfectly executing their game plan after holding England to a hard-fought 0-0 draw in their FIFA World Cup Group L clash.
<p>Speaking after the match at Gillette Stadium, Queiroz revealed that Ghana's primary objective was to frustrate England's star-studded side and deny them the rhythm needed to dominate the contest.</p><p>"Our goal was to frustrate England and we succeeded," the veteran coach said after the final whistle.</p><p>England entered the encounter as favourites following their opening victory over Croatia and controlled large portions of possession throughout the match. However, Ghana's disciplined defensive structure, tireless work rate and tactical organisation limited the Three Lions to only a handful of clear opportunities.</p><p>Queiroz commended his players for adhering to the game plan, describing their display as one of commitment, sacrifice and collective determination.
