MTN Slashes Fibre Broadband Prices in Major Boost for Internet Users
MTN Ghana has significantly reduced the cost of its fibre broadband services, with the price of its unlimited 100 Mbps monthly package dropping from GH¢987 to GH¢299. The company says the revised pricing is intended to expand access to affordable, reliable, and high-speed internet services across Ghana.
<p>MTN Ghana has announced sweeping reductions in the prices of its fibre broadband packages, marking one of the most significant price revisions in the country's broadband market in recent years.</p><p>Under the new pricing structure, the cost of the unlimited 100 Mbps monthly fibre broadband package has been reduced from GH¢987 to GH¢299, representing a substantial decrease aimed at making high-speed internet more accessible to households and businesses. The revised packages took effect immediately.</p><p>In addition to the 100 Mbps package, MTN has introduced a 300 Mbps unlimited broadband package at GH¢444 per month and a 500 Mbps unlimited package at GH¢999 per month. The company says the changes are part of efforts to provide customers with greater value while supporting Ghana's growing digital economy.</p><p>The announcement was welcomed by the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, who described the reductions as the outcome of sustained engagement between government and the telecommunications provider. According to the minister, the move aligns with efforts to ensure that Ghanaians have access to affordable, stable and reliable internet services.</p><p>Industry observers believe the new pricing could accelerate broadband adoption, particularly among students, remote workers, small businesses and content creators who depend on fast and stable internet connections. The reduction is also expected to strengthen competition within Ghana's broadband market and encourage wider digital participation.</p><p>MTN Ghana has indicated that it remains committed to expanding broadband access and improving connectivity services as demand for high-speed internet continues to grow nationwide.
