<p>Nana Kofi Kantanka, legal representative of the Kristo Asafo Mission, has rejected suggestions that Adwoa Safo was intentionally targeted during Sunday's incident at a private residence in Kwabenya, where Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I was being installed as the new leader of the Mission.</p><p>Speaking in media interviews following the incident, the lawyer maintained that the gunfire reported at the scene consisted of warning shots fired by security personnel in response to what he described as attempts to force entry into the premises.</p><p>According to Nana Kofi Kantanka, Adwoa Safo arrived at the residence while the installation ceremony was underway and allegedly drove her vehicle into two separate entrance gates after being denied immediate access.</p><p>He claimed that security personnel became concerned about the safety of worshippers and invited guests gathered on the property and discharged warning shots to prevent the vehicle from entering the compound.</p><p>The lawyer further alleged that Adwoa Safo fired the first shot during the confrontation, a claim that has not been independently verified by law enforcement authorities.</p><p>"The private security also knew that the lives of people were at risk, so they were giving warning shots," the lawyer reportedly stated while defending the actions of security personnel stationed at the residence.</p><p>He also disputed reports that Adwoa Safo had been deliberately prevented from attending the event, insisting that she would have been allowed entry had she followed normal access procedures.</p><p>The Mission's account differs significantly from earlier reports suggesting that armed men opened fire on the former legislator's vehicle, leaving her injured.</p><p>In a separate statement, the Kristo Asafo Mission denied allegations that Adwoa Safo was shot by her brother, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I, and called for an independent investigation to establish the full facts surrounding the incident.</p><p>The statement alleged that the former MP damaged two metallic gates at the property and maintained that security personnel intervened to protect lives and property.</p><p>Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has launched investigations into the incident and has arrested six private security guards in connection with the shooting.
