<p style="text-align: justify; ">Gov’t Unveils Reintegration Package for Evacuated Ghanaians from South Africa</p><p style="text-align: justify; ">The Government has announced a comprehensive reintegration package for Ghanaians evacuated from South Africa following recent xenophobic attacks, assuring returnees of support as they rebuild their lives at home.</p><p style="text-align: justify; ">Speaking at the Accra International Airport during the reception of the second batch of evacuees, Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, said the government's responsibility extended beyond evacuation to ensuring the successful reintegration of affected citizens.</p><p style="text-align: justify; ">He disclosed that approximately 200 employment opportunities had already been secured for returnees through partnerships with private businesses and Ghanaian entrepreneurs. According to him, the initiative is aimed at helping those who lost businesses, jobs and livelihoods during the attacks to regain economic independence.</p><p style="text-align: justify; ">Mr. Ablakwa announced that Engineers and Planners Limited had committed 100 jobs, while telecommunications companies AirtelTigo had also expressed readiness to offer employment opportunities to affected returnees. He further appealed to more Chief Executive Officers (CEO’s) and business owners to join the national effort to support fellow citizens.</p><p style="text-align: justify; ">In addition to employment opportunities, the reintegration package includes transportation assistance, temporary accommodation support, counselling services, financial assistance, reintegration allowances, and access to business startup opportunities. Government agencies are expected to work closely with returnees to facilitate their resettlement and long-term wellbeing.</p><p style="text-align: justify; ">Mr. Ablakwa assured the evacuees that they remained valued citizens, and that the government would continue to stand by them as they begin a new chapter back home.</p><div style="text-align: justify;"><br></div><p style="text-align: justify; ">Photo credit: gbcghanaonline</p>
