In a message shared on social media and subsequently reported by Ghanaian media, the singer encouraged women to remain intentional about their fertility, relationships and plans for starting a family.

“My advice to every girl in her early 30s: be intentional with your womb and be intentional with your future,” Sista Afia said.

She also pushed back against what she described as social pressure that could make women feel embarrassed about wanting marriage, children and genuine relationships.

“There is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of in having good morals, being raised with love. Don’t let this generation make you feel foolish for wanting something genuine,” she wrote.

‘Consider freezing your eggs’

Sista Afia then urged women who are in a position to do so to explore egg freezing as one way of preserving reproductive options.

“And if you’re in a position to, consider freezing your eggs. Give yourself the gift of time and options while you figure out life, love, and the kind of family you want,” she said.

She concluded the message by stressing that there should be no shame attached to taking steps she believes could help women protect their future.

“There is no shame in protecting your future. Freeze your eggs,” she added.
