The 2026 National Science and Maths Quiz has reached its climax, and once again, it belongs to the Blue Magicians. In a tense Grand Finale tonight at the UG Premier Domes in Accra, Presbyterian Boys' Secondary School capped off a dominant season by walking away with an unprecedented 9th NSMQ trophy.

How the Finale Unfolded

Accra Academy, in their first ever Grand Finale, came out swinging. The Bleoo boys brought real energy into the opening rounds, matching the multi-time champions question for question and holding their ground through the early speed rounds. For a moment, it looked like this could genuinely go either way.

Then came the middle stretch. PRESEC's trio of Jason, Kekeli, and Akosah took over during the calculation and riddle rounds, and their speed on the buzzer became the difference. Once they found that rhythm, neither Accra Academy nor St. Augustine's College could close the gap again.

It was a tough night for AUGUSCO in particular. They had put together a strong, high-scoring run through the semi-finals, but they simply couldn't match PRESEC's buzzer speed when it mattered most, finishing the night in third place with 27 points.

PRESEC alumni have completely taken over social media tonight. The "Odadeɛ" fanbase is out in full force across X and Facebook, celebrating their 9th star, and the chant "Sei Ho! Happy are we!" is trending everywhere alongside jokes that the trophy might as well be permanently retired to Legon at this point.
