Former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament (MP), Sarah Adwoa Safo, has declared her intention to contest the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary primaries in  the constituency .

In a statement dated Thursday, October 22, 2026, the former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection said the decision followed extensive consultations with party leaders, executives and other stakeholders.

She explained that although she had previously considered pursuing opportunities outside the constituency, she had reconsidered her position and decided to continue serving the people of Dome-Kwabenya in Parliament.

She said her decision was guided by her commitment to the NPP’s principles and values, as well as her belief that she still had more to contribute to the development of the constituency.

According to her, Dome-Kwabenya is one of Ghana’s rapidly growing constituencies, presenting both significant opportunities and developmental challenges that require continued attention.

She pointed to her 12 years as an MP as she worked with residents, party members, religious leaders and other stakeholders to address local concerns and promote development.

She acknowledged that more work remained to be done, adding that she was determined to build on previous achievements and continue working towards a better future for the constituency.

She said she would formally present herself for consideration as the NPP’s parliamentary candidate when the party announces the timetable and guidelines for its upcoming primaries.
