The Bayern Munich striker was crowned the world’s best men’s footballer at a ceremony held at the London Palladium on Monday, October 26, becoming the first Englishman to claim the honour since Michael Owen in 2001.
Kane’s triumph follows an outstanding 2025–26 campaign in which he scored 73 goals for club and country. His performances helped Bayern secure domestic titles, while he also played a key role in England’s run to third place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 33-year-old beat Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé and Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal to the award.
Speaking after receiving the trophy, Kane thanked those who voted for him and expressed pride at winning the award in London.
His victory places him among a select group of English Ballon d’Or winners, including Stanley Matthews, Bobby Charlton, Kevin Keegan and Owen.
