<h1><br></h1><p>Rayan Cherki and Erling Haaland both scored twice as City secured their second consecutive league win under new manager Enzo Maresca.</p><p>City took the lead in the 17th minute when Haaland rose to meet an Antoine Semenyo cross and produced a looping header beyond Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson.</p><p>The visitors remained the more dangerous side for much of the first half and went into the interval with a 1–0 advantage.</p><p>City increased their lead nine minutes after the restart through Cherki. The French midfielder produced an outstanding individual effort, weaving through several Palace defenders before finishing into the bottom corner.</p><p>Palace responded almost immediately when Yeremy Pino's free-kick struck the crossbar and rebounded into the net off City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. The goal was officially recorded as an own goal, giving the hosts hope of a comeback.</p><p>That hope lasted only a few minutes.</p><p>Cherki restored City's two-goal advantage in the 59th minute, firing a powerful effort from the edge of the penalty area that took a deflection on its way past Henderson.</p><p>The 23-year-old completed a standout performance with two goals on his first league start of the season. He had already made an impact as a substitute in City's opening league match against Bournemouth, providing two assists in that 2–1 victory.</p><p>Haaland then sealed the victory in the 84th minute, finishing from close range to register his second goal of the evening and give City a 4–1 win.</p><p>The result gives City six points from their opening two league matches and continues Maresca's winning start since taking over as manager.</p><p>Cherki's performance was particularly encouraging for City, with his creativity, dribbling and finishing proving decisive in the second half. Manchester City described the display as a polished performance, with both Cherki and Haaland registering braces.</p><p>For Crystal Palace, the defeat represents a difficult start under new manager Pierre Sage, who saw his side suffer a second consecutive league loss.</p><p>Despite the result, Palace showed moments of attacking promise, particularly before City took control after the interval.
