Big Tests Await As Title Rivals Meet

The Premier League returns this weekend for Matchday 3, and although the season is still in its early stages, there is already plenty to talk about.

This weekend brings another opportunity for the early leaders to maintain their momentum, but the headline fixture is undoubtedly the London derby between Arsenal and Chelsea on Sunday.</span></p><p>Manchester City, who currently sit at the top of the table, will be at home to Coventry City on Saturday. City have looked strong in the opening two games and will be expected to continue that form against a Coventry side still searching for its first points of the campaign. Arsenal also have a major test ahead of them. The Gunners welcome Chelsea to the Emirates on Sunday in one of the biggest games of the weekend. Both clubs have won their opening two matches, so something has to give when the two London rivals meet.</p><p>Liverpool, meanwhile, get the weekend underway on Friday night when they travel to face Ipswich Town. Liverpool have yet to register a win after their opening two matches, making this an important early-season fixture for the Reds. Ipswich, who have also struggled to find their footing, will see the match as a chance to make a statement against one of the league's biggest clubs.</p><p>Manchester United will also be hoping for another positive result when they travel to Everton on Sunday. United have already shown their attacking quality this season, but Everton will provide a difficult test on home soil.</p><p>Tottenham Hotspur have perhaps the biggest need for a turnaround among the traditional top clubs. Spurs have lost both of their opening matches and travel to Nottingham Forest on Saturday looking for their first points of the season.</p><p>Elsewhere, Newcastle United host Bournemouth, Brentford face Sunderland, Brighton welcome Leeds United, while Fulham take on Crystal Palace.
