Veteran Ghanaian gospel musician Bernice Offei has passed away at the age of 63, leaving behind a painful moment for Ghana’s gospel music community and the many people who grew up listening to her music. Bernice Offei was known for songs such as “Hold On,” “Life Is Short” and "Kaa She Gbeyei." Her music was not just about singing. It carried messages about faith, life, hope and the reality of our time on earth.
And today, one song in particular feels different.
“Life Is Short.”
The song speaks about something we sometimes forget in our daily lives: life does not last forever. We make plans. We chase money. We worry about tomorrow. We argue with people. We hold grudges. We sometimes act as though we have all the time in the world.
But we don't, and that is the reality of life.
This is another reminder that life is temporary and death is inevitable for everyone. Whatever we have today; wealth, fame, possessions, achievements will one day be left behind. So while we are here, let’s love more, forgive more, appreciate people, and make our time count.
Life is short. None of us knows how much time we have left.
