On Wednesday night at the Spotify Camp Nou, Racing Santander left with seven goals in their net as Barcelona produced another frightening attacking display, winning 7–2. And the scary part for the rest of La Liga? This is beginning to look normal.

Seven matches. Seven wins. 33 goals. Under Hansi Flick, Barcelona have started the season like a team in a hurry. Their first seven competitive matches have produced seven victories and 33 goals. That's not simply a good attacking record. That's a warning. The latest destruction came against Racing, with João Cancelo opening the scoring before Raphinha took over. The Brazilian scored a hat-trick, including two penalties, while an own goal, Gabriel Jesus and Lamine Yamal completed the rout. Racing did manage to score twice. It hardly mattered. Barcelona kept coming. That has become one of the defining features of this team. Even when the opposition finds a way through, Barça seem capable of simply scoring again. And again. And again.

The most intriguing thing about Barcelona's start is that their attacking threat does not appear to depend on one particular formula. They can score through individual brilliance.
